The Audi A7 Sportback won its first UK award on Friday, when it was voted Best Executive Car at the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY) Awards at the annual celebration in Glasgow. The A7 topped an Audi-dominated category, which included the A6 Saloon and the BMW 5-Series.

The SCOTY judges are all members of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers, who each road-test and vote for the cars that have impressed them most in each category.

John Murdoch, President of the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers said: "Some superb new cars entered the market during the past 12 months and our members had a tough time selecting the category winners. Manufacturers are responding to market challenges and continue to provide improvements in safety, emissions and economy at an astonishing rate."

The Best Executive Car title joins a number of international accolades awarded to the A7 Sportback, including the ‘Auto Bild’ Design Award.
