First deliveries are due in the first quarter of 2011 and early signs suggest this five-door sportback will be in high demand. The A7’s coupe-like lines give it its sleek appearance and its impressively low CO2 output of 139g/km and 53.3 mpg (combined) for the A7 3.0 TDI (240 PS) multitronic makes the new car an even more attractive option.
Engines & Driving Dynamics
The five-door performance coupe will initially offer a choice of four FSI petrol and TDI engines:-
- 204PS 2.8-litre FSI
- Supercharged 300PS 3.0-litre TFSI
- 3.0-litre TDI 204PS
- 3.0-litre TDI 245PS

The latest generation quattro all-wheel-drive system is combined with the rapid-shifting seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch sports transmission for the first time in Audi models at this level. In addition, the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system will be fitted as standard to all models, enabling the driver to fine tune steering weighting, throttle response and transmission shift points at the touch of a button.
All four engines combine the innovative Audi thermal management, energy recuperation during coasting and braking and the engine start-stop function.
Built on an exclusively Audi and completely new platform, the new A7 Sportback combines impeccable comfort and can be specified with a firmer, 10mm lower sport setting or an even more intensively handling-oriented S line configuration. For maximum driving refinement befitting long continent-crossing style journeys, an extensively revised version of the Audi adaptive air suspension system with three ride settings is an option.
