The Ferrari FF ushers in a revolutionary new chapter in Ferrari's rich history. Featuring 12 cylinders, four comfortable seats and four-wheel-drive, the 650bhp grand touring shooting brake represents an entirely new concept of the GT sports car.
At the FF's heart lies an advanced new four-wheel-drive system. Seven years in the making, it features two gearboxes in order to control power delivery to the wheels with greater precision. With so much power available from the 6.3 litre V12, delicate control of power delivery is vital, and the system can operate each front wheel independently to maintain traction; continually slipping clutches equalise speed between the front and rear axles. The front wheels can even be allowed to spin more quickly than the rears, allowing the traction control system to go beyond the simple braking adjustments made on other cars.
Though its shape nods to the famous Ferrari 250 GT Drogo, the application of such advanced performance technology in a practical body is unique. A hugely capable and truly usable GT: a novel idea.
