Abridge is right on track

An eight lane Scalextric track and a collection of classic Volkswagens attracted crowds of visitors and customers alike to Abridge Volkswagen in Harlow and Loughton.

The action packed Performance Driving Weekend, held at the Jardine Motors Group owned retailers, celebrated the arrival of the latest Golf GTI.

A constant stream of test drives over the two days gave guests the chance to get behind the wheel of the brand new Golf GTI and the sporty Scirocco GT.

Proving to be a successful event, Abridge brand manager Frank Plant, said: "We were delighted that so many joined us over such a wet weekend. The Golf GTI’s class leading levels of safety and stylish interior has certainty generated a lot of interest. We had many crashes through the weekend but fortunately these were just on the Scalextric track, so no injuries sustained just dented prides."

The iconic display of vintage Volkswagens featuring a Mark 1 Golf GTI and Scirocco were kindly donated by members of the local Volkswagen Owners Club and Club GTI, which added to the day’s entertainment.
